Bulluck Provides Texans Some Bulletin Board Material
November 20th, 2009 | by Mike Kerns |In a recent write up by ESPN’s Paul Kuharsky, Titans LB Keith Bulluck did what he does best. No, not make plays on the field, but run his mouth. As if Houston needed more inspiration to kick the hell out of the former Houston franchise this Monday Night at Reliant Stadium. Yet Bulluck decided to talk like his team is off to the 10-0 start they had last year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a roughing penalty or two against a Texans player on Keith Bulluck on Monday Night.
“You’re talking about a team that hasn’t even ever sniffed the playoffs before, so they beat us and other teams in the conference I guess to them it’s like a playoff win. It does something for them. I remember last game, it was only the second game of the season, but I thought it was like for the AFC Championship.” Bulluck ranted. ” So that said, they have a huge stage Monday night, we both do. I know they have playoff aspirations and everything so we’re really looking forward to come down to Houston and destroying all playoff thoughts and aspirations they have.”
While the two teams have developed a clear rivalry with one another, Bulluck doesn’t look at it that way. “You know what, we’re kind of more like distant cousins. We did have a relationship in the sense that this organization used to be in Houston. We’re more like cousins. They’re like our fourth or fifth cousin. We don’t really acknowledge them.”
I think of players like Texans safety Bernard Pollard reading these words and getting even more fired up than they already are. Of course, if you heard the recent interview Pollard gave to local sports radio, you don’t really have to do much to get him fired up.
Players run their mouths. That is nothing new in the NFL. But they usually don’t come from guys whose teams are 3-6 and only wins have come against bottom feeders of the league. But, to be honest, it is better than having to listen to all the Vince Young hoopla. But that is a whole different topic all together. If you want my opinion on the Vince Young garbage, you can read it here. It has garnered a lot of debate and passion, so it is worth a look. But I am done talking about VY until the game on Monday Night.
